PHYSICAL EFFECTS
Physical effects are the ones that are performed in front of the camera, so it's exactly what is happening. Some kinds of these effects are the weather effects, collapsing buildings, water effects, pyrotechnics, explosions, etc.
When you referred to a weather effect it could be the wind. You can create wind with fans of different sizes. One example is Twister 1996.
Other example is the smoke, you smoke bombs, pressurized air, dry ice, car explotions, crashes etc. Also may be mechanical creatures known as animatronic, prosthetic make up like false organs , in which actors are smashing through a window, they are also considered physical effects.

The physical effects are very important to create a movie, because every aspect and little detail had to be perfectly calculated and created, because it depends of the credibility of the viewers.
