According to Wikipedia the first trailer been shown in the U.S was in November 1913, with Nils Granlund with the short promotional film for the musical The pleasure Seekers, opening at the Winter Garden Theatre o Broadway.
Granlund was the first to introduce trailer material for motion picture, using a technique upcoming a film featuring Charlie Chaplin. During 1950's trailers were commonly created by National Screen Service, which made a descriptive the story. In 196p the face motion picture trailer changed, with textless, montages, quick editing and many techniques.
These earlier trailers were much shorter and often consisted of little more than title cards and stock footage. Today more elaborate trailers and commercial advertisements have replaced other entertainment.
Trailers are series of selected shots from the film being presented, it is like a summery of the most important parts of the movie. Trailers are made to attract an audience to the film, these excerpts are usually drawn from the most exciting, funny, or other moods noteworthy parts of the film but in abbreviated form and usually without producing spoilers.
For this purpose the scenes are not necessarily in the order in which they appear in the film. A trailer has to achieve that in less than two and a half minutes, the maximum length allowed by the MPAA.

Trailers are very interesting and in my opinion they aren't easy to make because if you make one mistake and your trailer is boring, people wouldn't watch your movie so you have to think what people would like to see in a trailer. You have to put the conflict in the trailer and obviously without telling the solution.
ReplyDeleteTrailers are very important before the movie is on the wall, because you have to be sure to make it very interesting, because viewers just watch the kind of entertainment that it had to watch it.

ReplyDeleteTrailers are like the intorduction of a movie, and is a way of commercialize it because I don't think that a person would be able to watch a movie that doesn´t know a little about it and trilers gaves you like a resume of what the movie is going to be about
ReplyDeleteTrailers are a way of getting the attention of the viewer before watching the movie, because if the movie doesn’t have a good trailer the people would think that the movie is also bad. So the movie depends of the trailer.
